Press Release | Arole Cultural participates in the Rio de Janeiro International Book Fair with five releases and a new label
For the first time in the event, the publishing house will have booth with free cultural activities, autograph sessions and authors in the official program
Arole Cultural, which made its debut at the São Paulo International Book Fair in 2018, arrives at the Rio de Janeiro International Book Fair with four releases: "Azizi, the precious gift", children's book written by Lucimar Rosa Dias; "Oshun, fine sweets and pastries", by chef Carlos Ribeiro; "Priesthood Secrets" by Alan Barbieri; "Warrior Gods", fiction of Lucas Espírito Santo; and "The Secret ofLeaves", volume three of "The Sacred Leaves" trilogy, by Diego de Oxóssi.
In the biggest literary event in Brazil, which will take place from August 30th to September 8th at Riocentro, Barra da Tijuca, Arole Cultural will have a thematic stand where they will present to the public attractions such as children's storytelling of African legends for small readers, with Kemla Batista of the project Caçando Estórias (@cacandoestorias), and lectures for adult audiences on spirituality and personal development with releasing authors and guests such as writer and tartot expert Nei Naiff (Editora Alfabeto), as well as books premieres and autograph sessions.
In the official programme of the 19th edition of the event, the debate on how the speed of the 21st century crosses and modifies the relationship between parents and children, parents and educators - which happens on the 4th at 3:00 pm in the Biennial Literary Café - counts with children's author Lucimar Rosa Dias, Fernanda Rodrigues and Tania Zagury. This activity is part of the National Forum of Education, organized by the Bienal RJ and that takes place during the fair. On the same date, the author releases "Azizi, the precious gift" at the publisher's booth.
The release of Azizi also marks the debut of the publishing label Bejiró, which will illustrate the books of the publisher aimed at children. The proposal of the book appeared in December / 2018, during the release of "Knowing the Orishas", the first children's title of Arole Cultural, when the author met publisher Diego de Oxóssi.
"There are urgent and sensitive issues, such as adoption, that need to be dealt with by small readers and we [the publishing house] wanted very much to do such a book. When I met the proposal [of Azizi] through Lucimar this became even stronger and soon we accepted the challenge, which became the seed of the Bejiró label", says the editor and director of Arole Cultural.
Also author of Arole Cultural, Alan Barbieri, who released "The Wisdom of Umbanda" last December and quickly became best seller, participates in the conversation "Faith, diversity and love" with Priest Henrique Vieira, on September 5th, at 5:00 p.m. , in the Youth Arena of the Book Fair.
The publishing house was founded in 2015 by Diego do Oxóssi, aiming to translate the culture of the Orishas in an objective and easy way for the lay reader or for anyone who already has an interest in the subject "Arole means `the heir` in Yoruba language - one who carries a tradition. This is the mission and the main goal of our titles and brand: help spread African religions, breaking down taboos and stigmata, demystifying and deconstructing prejudices and showing that we are all equal in our differences", explains the founder and writer.

The affective bonds between Azizi, his mother and his father are strengthened in the difference of the races. Azizi's excitement at tirelessly hearing the story of his arrival, "the precious gift" so much awaited by his parents, is the confirmation that notions of family go far beyond blood ties: Azizi is adopted, but also adopts his parents who, together, find in the delicacies of life the sense of love.
